A strong layout does not need to fill every available space. It needs to tell the reader where to begin, what matters, and where to go next.
Try reducing the number of competing signals before adding another element. A simpler hierarchy often makes room for a more expressive image or a more considered sentence.
The same principle holds across print and screen: structure should support the content, not become the thing the audience has to work around.
